Nasi Lemak and Petronas Tower

This morning I'm up early with Mrs. KLite to go into the golden triangle, something I do on a regular basis. We often arrive into the outskirts of KL by about 8am. The sun rises and sets the same time everyday here 7.30am and 7.30 pm. We take the north south highway, which is a fairly new expressway, which cuts into one of the many mountains surrounding KL (KL is situated in a valley.) The photo was supposed to be impressive with the sunrise and the petronas tower (until recently the tallest building in the world) often shrouded in the early morning fog, but alas the photo did not capture the moment as I had hoped. You had to be there to appreciate it. I'm making the most of it because of the large scale building program in Mont Kiara that will block the view of petronas tower. Mont Kiara is where most of the expats live. It’s a sort of a Singapore. The kind of place where people claim they want to experience the real Malaysia and then go home to a cup of tea like they had been on day trip to the Natural History Museum. Reminds me of the lads/ladettes of Benidorm only richer.

We stop off for a typical Malay breakfast called Nasi Lemak that is coconut rice with all manner of things added to it from chili, egg, anchovies to cucumbers. I skip the chili of course, my stomach not fireproof yet. It kind of feels like I'm eating last night dinner left over- eaten fresh of course. All this to the sound of the road traffic that is less than a metre from where I’m sitting and half of KL has found 101 uses for their car horn!
